I'm a Cougar!

I finally made it to college!  It's so weird because college kids always seemed so old and now I'm one of them!  But, I'm not gonna lie... I love the independence I have here, but I think 8 weeks is enough!

I'm about to head to my first class in about an hour and a half, so hopefully all goes well!

Graduation and Such

After weeks of finals, last minute projects, and AP testing, the moment I had been waiting for since the very first day of Sophomore year had finally come: Graduation.  Oh, this day was long awaited and highly anticipated and it couldn't have come at a better time.  I am so glad that High School is over!  In fact, I had to go back to MVT today to get my final transcript and I honestly shuddered as I walked through the office door.  Now I never have to go back!

Because I was Senior Class President this year, the majority of my jobs were in the last week of school.  Let me tell ya, it was pretty stressful!  Not only did I have to worry about finals and AP tests, but I was in charge of organizing the Senior Survey/Senior Video, Baccalaureate, and Graduation, not to mention conduct the Honors Breakfast and speak at Senior Forum.  On top of all that, I had to sing in a special musical number at seminary graduation... Don't they know I can't sing?! I had a lot on my plate, but somehow I pulled it off and everything went so smoothly!

After almost a full year of planning and coordinating, we had Baccalaureate at the Central Christian Church.  Baccalaureate is a nondenominational church service for all graduating seniors and their friends and family.  It was a beautiful service, and many people commented that it was the best Baccalaureate they've been to!  Fortunately I didn't have to speak, just conduct, which was so relieving!

The very next morning before school started was the Honors Breakfast, which I was able to conduct... Again!  I was actually really surprised when the first award presented was awarded to me.  I wasn't really paying attention because I wasn't even expecting to receive an award, so I was shocked to hear my name!  I can't quite remember the name of the award or its description (because I wasn't paying attention!), but it's something like the Military Auxiliary Award... I think?  I was also in the top 10% of my class and received recongition and a pin for that.

After a fun day at the lake with some friends, I went to Seminary Graduation.  It was a little bit sad knowing that my days in seminary are over, because seminary has been one of my favorite parts about high school.  However, I didn't stay sad for long!

GRADUATION!!
The whole experience of graduating was so surreal.  It still feels like a dream.  I was so lucky to have the opportunity to speak at graduation.  Speaking in front of thousands of people was one of the most amazing experiences of my life and I loved every second of it!  I had been stressing about it all day, and of course I began to lose my voice that morning, but I couldn't have asked for it to have gone any better than it did!  And really, after conducting all those meetings earlier in the week, I was more than prepared for public speaking!

Senior Pictures

I was seriously stressin about taking senior pictures this year because what if none of the pictures turned out and I had to use an ugly picture on my graduation announcements?  I swear, whenever I want/need a picture to look good, it doesn't.  I've never had a good school picture.  It just doesn't happen.  Luckily, the amazing Kenzie Gossling shot my pictures and I loved them all!

PROM2012

Prom was so much fun this year!  I went with one of my good friends Austin Turley and he made it so memorable!  I had the most beautiful dress that I never wanted to take off, and my hair and make up was flawless.  I loved every second of it!
